In 16 days I will be leaving Massachusetts and heading North to the wild and wooly state of Maine, 6 hours in the car with 4 kids...one of which doesn't always travel well. Dawn says she will be at the end of the driveway waiting for me with a bottle of wine and box of Twinkies....thank God for her! So I've started packing and getting stuff together. Traveling with a kiddo with Special Needs definatly puts a spin on things. Not only do I have to try to figure out what toys to bring (although he will spend the week obsessing about whatever toy I DIDN'T bring) but with his food allergies I have to bring almost all his meals with me. I'm not leaving it up to fate that the grocery store will carry his gluten free/dairy free food, and I have to make sure I have enough of all his meds to get us through.
I have also made the decision to "unplug" my eldest child from her phone. Which I am sure will go over well. I am positive she will survive a week without knowing every move her friends are making. So you will all hear the scream and of course the word will get out that I am the WORST MOTHER IN THE WORLD but I have thick skin and won't let my new title bother me.
